Even the investigation scenes are quite dull and lack the momentum needed to keep the audiences engaged. Suseenthiran overloads the film with a lot of unwanted elements and there is no intelligence in the script. I felt that in these aspects Suseenthiran did a fair job but where the film really fails is the second half. Surprisingly, this was not an issue for me. I found a lot of reviews saying that the comedy and romantic scenes interfere with the script. One of my other favourite actors, Jeya Prakash has also been given quite a limited role. It's a shame to see that an actor with so much potential has not been utilized properly.

Samithurkani has once again been wasted after MASS, although he has a little bit more scope than MASS. I usually find Kajal Aggarwal to be annoying, but in this film she was not bad. Vishal's role as Jayaseelan is nothing special and could have been enacted by any other actor.
#Payum puli songs video movie#
Suseenthiran's Paayum Puli is one such film! The movie starts of with the usual commercial scenes that you find in any film. While there are directors trying to take Tamil Cinema forward, there are some who still make films as old as the hills. Payum Puli is a decent cop thriller, except for the commercial sacrifices made in the 1st half. The action sequences were believable and packed a punch. There are no heavy punch dialogues and goons flying everywhere. The movie has a bit of family and emotional angle too, which was handled with ease. There is a small investigation scene and that was well scripted. 2nd half is where all the action happens and there is this brutality factor which makes it more original. The honesty and genuineness in which Suseenthiran dealt with the subject. There are few things I liked in the movie. Kajal Agarwal made a guest appearance as a heroine quite a few times in the movie. Soori played a typical sidekick to Vishal. But Samuthirakani will take away all the medals for his awesome acting. Performances wise, Vishal did his best and looked good as a cop. Music by Imman was pretty good with pretty ok songs. WTH WTH WTH.Ĭinematography was good especially I loved the drone shots and the fight sequences. For example, an encounter is followed by a duet song. Except for the 1st half, the film didn't seem to be dragging. More action in the 1st half would have made this film more gripping.

Only after the interval, the movie starts to get a bit racy. There are unwanted songs thrown in, couple of encounters and a dummy heroine. Suseenthiran had a solid script but the screenplay, especially in the first half was pathetic. In between there is some maane theney ponmaaney stuff with the heroine, which never makes sense to me.

What's that and what happened after that is the rest of the story. His finds the culprit and there is a surprise in store for him. But later he learns that the main mastermind behind all these murders and kidnaps is still out there and he takes up this case officially to nab the gangster. Payum Puli is about a undercover cop, who is on a mission to find and kill the culprit who murdered a policeman. The trailer looked interesting and I expected one roller coaster of a movie but since Tamil cinema is plagued by commercial elements like love, songs, heroine etc so the main story always takes a back seat. Vishal is always a good choice for cop roles because he is fit and looks believable as a cop. After the super hit Pandiyanadu, Vishal - Suseenthiran combo is back with payum puli.
